Droid Bionic finally gets its 4.0.4 ICS update: Too little too late?

0

Hell has frozen over and Verizon and Motorola have finally released the Android 4.0 ICS update to Bionic users, months after its RAZR and RAZR MAXX cousins received the same update.

The new build is numbered 6.7.246 and is starting to roll out. For those of you who have been running one of the many leaked ICS builds (.232 myself), that were leaked months ago, it will be interesting to see if this release brings anything new to the table. Many of the leaked builds successfully overclocked the processor from 1.0 GHz to 1.2 GHz by default and allowed for the device to be rooted. Hopefully these features made the cut and have survived to make it into the final build.

One thing is certain, if you were waiting for Jelly Bean 4.1 are going to be disappointed.

If you still happen to own a Bionic you can grab your update by doing the following.

Settings > About Phone > System

Update: According to the official Motorola Android Software Update page, the Bionic will eventually get Jelly Bean.
